A new app from Lonely Planet has just been introduced for the Samsung Gear S3 smartwatch, which also releases a series of new unique watch faces to the device, too. The app is due to a partnership between Samsung and Lonely Planet, that Samsung announced earlier today. The idea is just to provide users with an exclusive experience that utilizes Lonely Planet’s extensive knowledge of travel to allow users a nifty travel tool to have on their wrists should the need arise for some quick information.
Frequent travelers especially will find the result of this partnership very enriching with all the travel guides and the tips featured. Lonely Planet is set to offer relevant content for all Samsung Gear S3 users. It’ll also take advantage of the Gear 360 and Galaxy S7 to make more immersive materials. This is part of Lonely Planet’s ‘Best in Travel’ flagship marketing campaign.
This app will be a companion app for Guides, Lonely Planet’s mobile app for the travellers that covers 50 cities around the world. You’ll get a list of the top places in respect to the users’ current location, but it will also let you navigate to it.
With your Samsung Gear S3 smartwatch loaded with the Lonely Planet app, you can also view the top places relevant to your location. It’s really handy when you are traveling because you can bookmark tourist spots or route directions as necessary.
If you browse to the Galaxy Apps Store and just search for ‘Lonely Planet’ you will find four travel-themed watch faces that have been created by the Lonely Planet design team, along with added features such as destination details, weather information and a world clock.
The Samsung Gear S3 smartwatch Guides by Lonely Planet will be available from the start of December.
